The Wall — Rahul Dravid — is more like a sieve these days. Ganguly was able to leave at the top of the game. He announced his retirement while the series was ongoing, hit a century after making the announcement, and was carried off the field by his teammates.
It was sad to see Dravid get out time and again with less than 10 runs. One wondered whether he will be able to quit the game on a high note like Ganguly. He got his chance yesterday in the second and final Test match against England in Mohali. He didn’t disappoint and has hit 64 runs on conditions that helped the bowlers a lot. Let us see if he can convert it to a 100 or more today. If he does, it will be a perfect time for him to announce his retirement and let some youngster take his place.
